It was on the eve of their second one-day international after 14 years that this fantastic news came. Harmanpreet Kaur scored a whopping 171 runs that brought a massive victory to India. But eventually lost to England three days after this victory. The Indian Women’s Cricket Team dragged themselves to mainstream Cricket with their tremendous performance.
The performance of the team made BCCI work for the betterment of the women’s cricket. This made BCCI hike the paycheques. Though the pay is still low than the male cricketers. The pay of Grade A players was a hike to ₹50 lakh from ₹15 lakh and that of Grade B players have been hiked to ₹30 lakh from ₹10 lakh.
After this high performance, more channels have decided to broadcast the matches of the team.
The cricketers are also getting more endorsement offers from renowned companies like Ceat, Laver & Wood, Uber, Rio Tinto’s diamonds, Hero MotoCorp, Bata, ITC’s B Natural juices and more. These brand endorsement has always been known to help gain more for any celebrity.
Mithali Raj, who is the captain of the Indian Women’s Cricket team, is always working with her team to play better matches.
It is of great pride for not just women but all of India that the daughters have made it to the Forbes India Celebrity 100 list.
